Hi I´m Adriana González, I’m going to talk about some aspects of Venezuela architecture like color, light, texture, acoustic, rhythm, vertical and horizontal circulation, and space and scale in some buildings in the country.
Color
We can see pictures of Architecture Island. Predominant colors are white and brown, this is because when the people going to the beach, they want just relax and enjoy the moment.
White color means peace, and transmits cleanliness, and neutrality. Help mental clarity, and give us sensation of amplitude.
Brown color used for wood, is necessary for give us the sensation of nature, this sensation to be outside with nature, trees, birds, land and all beautiful things that we can found in the island.

Color can help to facilitate and fulfil some very basic human needs. it can: identify and specify necessary objects (animal, vegetable or mineral) for survival and/or enjoyment; stimulate and work synergistically with all the senses – sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch; mark territory and manage personal space; symbolize abstract concepts and thoughts; recall another time or space /create a mnemonic sensation); express fantasy and wish-fulfilment; create illusions and ambience; emphasize or camouflage figures or objects; enhance self-image and personal esteem; produce an aesthetic response. most important, the use and arrangement of color enable us to create beauty and harmony and express our personal taste, by doing so, provide us with a sense of accomplishment. “Pantone Book of Color”, Abrams, 1990

Light
Many places in Venezuela have lots of lights, there are some buildings attractive for me.
Villa Planchart is a house located in Caracas Mountains. The light is so important to create the beauty and harmony of the facade. For me the light is the attractive of this house.

Light plays an important role in the Aula Magna of UCV designed by Raul Villanueva. It´s perfect use for accent light. The light created the ambient with the colors and forms in the roof. It´s like clouds in the sky.
Other example of good use of lighting in architecture is the night club Rosalinda in Caracas. This is a really beautiful and attractive lighting of interior design. Keep a low light to do the place cozy; this is the best form to create the ambient.
Texture
The Cover Square of The Central University of Venezuela. It was designed by the architect Carlos Raul Villanueva.Texture is the most important thing, it can divide spaces, giving them an interesting touch if you use the right texture. We can appreciate different textures on the walls and wall depth or concrete walls that are transmitted in the different spaces. And the light that is responsible for defining the space of the square, and the shadow plays an important role.

Acoustic
The design of an auditorium has many variants, so we must avoid any kind of noise that is transmitted through multiple paths. That is why the architect, have to take into account every material that will use when I designed an auditorium.
The success of the acoustics in an auditorium will depend on the proper balance between the absorbent and reflective of sound.
The "Aula Magna" of The Central University of Venezuela. Designed by the architect Carlos Raul Villanueva is the best example of good acoustic. Its not only liven clouds and color do not improve the acoustics, they care the most minimum detail for the acoustics was perfect.

Rhythm
Venezuela has so many examples of rhythm architecture, because rhythm is necessary to design and create structures.
The Tamanaco Hotel in Caracas: in facade we can see the rhythm create by the repetition of windows and the staggered form.
Four Season Altamira, is a hotel and residence located in caracas with 3 different forms but the facade is the same in these volumes creating rhythm for do it just one piece.
Library of Simon Bolivar University is another example of rhythm using windows, colors, materials to create the rhythm.

Vertical and Horizontal Circulation

When designing a building one of the most important things to consider, is circulation. How the architect is going to define the vertical and the horizontal circulation is of extreme importance in a construction or design.
Millenium mall
Inside of the Millenium mall, we can see how the people take importance, and how all horizontal circulation in the levels respond to their needs. The people walks around all mall to see all stores.
Talking about vertical circulation there present different elements such as stairways, escalators and elevators, they have a style that matches perfectly with all the other elements allowing people can move to different floors.

Space and Scale
Space

The most important thing at the moment of design is the creation of spaces. Space is basically formed by the relationship between an object and a human being who perceives it. Space, although primarily determined by sight, in the case of architecture, it is also affected by olfaction, audition and tactility.
On the other hand, exterior architectural space is the one created by delimiting nature; it is a man-made environment with a purpose that is delimited only by a floor and a wall, making the choice of colors and textures in its design very important.
The ability of an architect is judged by how effectively the available space is molded and structured.

Scale

The word scale refers to the relative size of things. Scale is something that the architect has to think during the design process.
In architecture, we are concerned with two types of scale: generic and human scale. Generic scale refers to the size of a building or space relative to others forms in the context. And human scale refers to the size of a building, element or space relative to the dimensions of the human body.
