Cleveland State University is a public university located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It was one of the final design projects by the late Charles Gwathmey, award-winning New York architect. Count with three story building; with glass exterior; multi-level atrium, and central public forum.
In this building the circulation is not just interior, also exterior. We can see in the picture the circulation module, and it´s part of the building design. Giving importance to the Euclid Avenue, Also it works well because stairways are located in different points covering all building.
The horizontal circulation is comfortable because is wide, and the people can move without problems, taking different directions without being locked, taking a special importance to the distribution of the building.
In my opinion this is a great building which takes into account all aspects including horizontal and vertical circulation, creates different spaces, with simple and double height, and the most important is how they connect all spaces of the building, creating this relation and harmony.
